| Background | ||||||||||
| I am Principal Computer Scientist at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, where I lead a section that focuses on data characterization and access technologies. My research background is tortuous, touching on plan recognition, hypertext, agent communication languages and information retrieval. As an associate research professor, I am available as an advisor for student projects and theses. | ||||||||||
| Research Interests | ||||||||||
| I'm interested broadly in human language technologies, especially in language-neutral aproaches that can be applied successfully to diverse human languages. Specific areas I've worked in include cross-language information retrieval, spoken document retrieval, information extraction and cross-language question answering. | ||||||||||
