Robert Doverspike, MSE ‘10
A software development engineer at Microsoft, Robert Doverspike (MS ’10) is enthusiastic about how well his computer science education at Hopkins prepared him for a successful career.
“The Department of Computer Science is outstanding. The faculty and staff are dedicated to helping you excel in your academic and professional careers, and many computer science alumni stay involved, meaning you have excellent networking opportunities.”
Doverspike, who was involved in the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a social fraternity and the wrestling team during his years at Hopkins, encourages current students to take advantage of the “career services and networking” offered. Department alumni tend to be very involved, he noted, and will help graduates get a toehold in the tight-knit professional world outside.
“Hopkins opens doors for you,” Doverspike said. “I’ve never had to worry about getting a call after submitting my resume to a potential employer. In fact, I get calls from recruiters twice a week and I’m not even looking for a job!”
