Tushar Jois, a PhD student in the Department of Computer Science, was recently awarded a $1,500 Upsilon Pi Epsilon scholarship. He is one of 30 awardees this year.
The mission of Upsilon Pi Epsilon is to recognize academic excellence in the computing and information disciplines. To this end, the UPE Executive Council evaluates a large number of scholarship applications from both undergraduate and graduate students each year.
Jois’ research interests include cybersecurity concepts and techniques such as security configurations, common protocols, access control, and risk management. In addition to his academic work, Jois is active on campus and currently serves as the Johns Hopkins UPE chapter president.
