Steven Salzberg, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, and Biostatistics, has been named a 2020 Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery. This honor recognizes those who have made transformative contributions to and are advancing technology in areas ranging from artificial intelligence and bioinformatics to cloud computing and software engineering. ACM Fellowship recognizes the top 1% of ACM members for their outstanding accomplishments.
Steven was selected for his contributions to computational biology, including software for DNA sequence analysis, alignment, and genome assembly. He is one of 95 new Fellows from universities, companies, and research centers around the world.
