It’s not every day you see a friendly face from the Late Cretaceous period on the Homewood campus. During a Halloween trick-or-treating adventure last month, children from the Homewood Early Learning Center eagerly followed their dinosaur guide around campus.
Led by the costumed Ashley Moriarty, a senior academic program coordinator in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the kids collected candy and treat bags from seven different offices in Garland, Latrobe, Barton, Hackerman, and Malone halls—with only the occasional scare when someone yelled “Boo!” in the echoing stairwells.
“The kids had a blast,” reports Lisa Brown, assistant director of the HELC. “When they came back they all took a long nap.”
