During this event, students will pledge to honor the profession of the engineering, computer science, and other computing-related programs and to uphold and promote engineering ethical and moral behaviors as they transition to careers of service to society.
Doors and check-in will open at 9:30 a.m.
For the Inductees:
For the Order of the Engineer, students (inductees) are called to sign their names into the official Whiting School of Engineering register, receive a stainless steel ring worn on the fifth finger of the working hand and a certificate, and recite an oath.
For the Pledge of the Computing Professional, students (inductees) are called to sign their names into the official Whiting School of Engineering register, receive a pin that spells Honor in ASCII and a certificate, and recite a pledge.
The ceremony will last about two hours, followed by a light reception in Hodson Hall.
Special note for non-participants:
Anyone who is not a participant in the ceremony should bypass check-in upon arrival. Please grab a program and head directly to the auditorium to be seated.
Homewood Campus Parking
The closest parking locations for the Order of the Engineer and the Pledge of the Computing Professional Induction Ceremony are either the South Garage or the San Martin Garage; both are a short walk to Hodson Hall. (Please note there is another commencement happening at 9 a.m., so parking and driving may be congested.)
See the campus map here.
We hope you will help us celebrate our graduating students with this send-off.
