An associate teaching professor in the Department of Computer Science, Xiangyang Li works in computer and system security, user modeling and intelligent systems, simulation and modeling, and knowledge discovery and engineering.

He has contributed to many projects on computer security, user modeling and assistance, and information fusion with funding from DARPA, the Air Force Research Laboratory, the University of Michigan, and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He also has extensive experience in advising students, designing and directing student projects, and curriculum development.

Li received his PhD from Arizona State University.
