Raman Arora, an assistant professor of computer science, has been named a recipient of an NSF CAREER Award, which recognizes early-stage scholars with high levels of promise and excellence.
Arora’s research interests lie in machine learning, data-driven decision-making, and robustness and privacy in machine learning and artificial intelligence.
His five-year CAREER award will support his project, “Understanding Inductive Biases in Modern Machine Learning,” which will develop an explanatory and prescriptive theory of deep learning that is tightly integrated with and motivated by the practice.
