Call for PapersThirteenth ACM Symposium on Parallel Algorithms and Architectures
|
The Thirteenth Annual ACM Symposium on Parallel Algorithms and Architectures (SPAA '01) is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Groups on Algorithms and Computation Theory (SIGACT) and Computer Architecture (SIGARCH) and organized in cooperation with the European Association for Theoretical Computer Science.
This year SPAA is co-located with The 33rd Annual ACM Symposium on Theory of Computing (STOC) (July 6-8, 2001) and The 28th International Colloquium on Automata, Languages and Programming (ICALP) (July 8-12, 2001).
SPAA '01 will feature contributed papers, each with a 25-minute talk, and SPAA revue papers, each with a 10-minute talk. The SPAA revue is for brief communications including work in progress or demos.
Contributed papers are sought in ALL areas of parallel algorithms and architectures, and of related fields. This year, SPAA defines parallel very broadly to encompass any computational "device" that can perform multiple operations or tasks simultaneously. As a consequence, SPAA 2001 covers all traditional parallel and distributed architectures, plus new aspects including, e.g., satellite networks, the web, quantum and DNA computing, etc. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Parallel Computing | Massive Parallelism |
---|---|
Parallel Algorithms | Cluster Computing and Grid Computing |
Parallel Complexity Theory | Mobile Computing |
Parallel Computing and Applications | Metacomputing (Internet and Web) |
Models for Parallel and Distributed Computing | Parallel Data Bases and Data Mining |
Instruction Level Parallelism and VLSI | Quantum and DNA Computing |
Routing and Information Dissemination | Satellite and Radio Networks |
Parallel Data Structures | Supercomputer Architecture and Computing |
Compilers and Tools for Parallel Computation | Large Networks |
Regular presentations will be alloted a 25-minute talk and up to 10 pages in the proceedings. This format is intended for contributions reporting original research, submitted exclusively to this conference. Presentation at the SPAA Revue will be alloted a 10-minute talk and up to 2 pages in the proceedings. This format is a forum for brief communications, which may be published later in other conferences.
Authors who are unable to submit electronically should contact the program chair at pierre@lri.fr to receive instructions. Do not send electronic submissions to this email address
A submission for a regular presentation should include an introduction understandable to a nonspecialist including motivation and previous work, and a technical exposition directed to a specialist. It should not exceed 10 printed pages in 11-point type or larger (excluding cover, figures, and references). More details may be supplied in a clearly marked appendix to be read at the discretion of the program committee. A camera-ready copy of each accepted paper will have to be prepared according to ACM guidelines for inclusion in the proceedings of the conference. A submission for the SPAA Revue should consist of a 2-page abstract for each proposed presentation. A camera-ready copy of each accepted abstract will have to be prepared according to ACM guidelines for inclusion in the proceedings of the conference.
The conference program and registration information will be posted on the SPAA '01 web pages in April 2000.
